When parents read to their young children, children develop a love of books that later builds strong reading skills.
The Imagination Library
About The Dolly Parton Imagination Library
THE DOLLY PARTON IMAGINATION LIBRARY is an early literacy initiative that provides new, age-appropriate books each month to children birth to age five in the Wyoming Valley — FREE of charge and regardless of household income.
THE IMAGINATION LIBRARY IS IMPORTANT because birth to age five are the most crucial learning years and early investment in a child can improve brain development and school readiness. That’s why UNITED WAY OF WYOMING VALLEY sponsors the IMAGINATION LIBRARY.
90%
of a child’s brain is fully developed by age 5
How You Can Help
YOU CAN HELP by giving the gift of reading and creating a foundation for success. Sponsor a child for a year through a donation of $30 per child. Be an advocate — tell your friends, neighbors and coworkers about this exciting program!
