Dorothy Darling Society

Established in 2004, the Dorothy Darling Society was created to honor people who serve their community at extraordinary levels - giving immensely of their time, talent and resources. This distinguished membership recognizes donors who generously contribute $5,000-$9,999 annually to the United Way of Wyoming Valley.

Dorothy Darling is an area native who has continued her family's legacy of generosity to support children and family programs throughout the Wyoming Valley.

Although Dorothy no longer lives in the area, she continues to make significant contributions and carry on the tradition of giving back to the community that has been so important to her family. She has graciously allowed the United Way of Wyoming Valley to use her name to promote advanced levels of charitable giving to the community. This distinguished membership proves that the combined efforts of a few individuals can make a compelling difference.

The Dorothy Darling Society has made a significant impact on the community by emulating Dorothy's indomitable spirit of kindness and generosity. Its members have exhibited passionate leadership in improving the quality of life in the community, caring deeply about the individual lives that are changed with the help of United Way.
